ACOUSTIC UNDERLAY

G-SOUND

An acoustic underlay used within floor build-ups. Acoustic results depend on the complete tested floor system, not the underlay alone.

Description

G-SOUND is an acoustic underlay installed within a floor build-up to reduce impact sound transmission between levels.

Acoustic results depend on the complete tested floor system, including the structural slab, the underlay, any screed or topping, the finished floor covering, the ceiling below and the surrounding junction detailing. An underlay does not have an acoustic rating on its own.

Where an acoustic outcome is required, the build-up should be matched to a tested system and reviewed by the project acoustic consultant.

Typical applications

  • Floor build-ups where impact sound transmission is being addressed
  • Projects with an acoustic consultant nominating a tested system
  • Installations that reproduce a tested build-up in full

Limitations

  • Acoustic performance figures apply to the complete tested floor system, not to G-SOUND in isolation.
  • Changes to any layer of the build-up, including the floor covering, ceiling or junction detailing, change the acoustic result.
  • G-SOUND is not a waterproofing product and is not a wearing surface.

Product selection, specification and system build-up should be confirmed with Ozone for each specific project before ordering or installation.
